Well Come. Native Intelligence is the online collation of my work spanning 20 years of teaching and collaborating, 30 of conscious self-work, and almost 50 of walking the planet!
What I offer here is a alternative way of using the mind and it’s structures, and in doing so, new vistas and possibilities reveal themselves, within us, and around. I focus on everyday subjects, as in, we use them everyday, often without even ‘thinking it’s a thing that we ‘actually do’..the) such as perception, language and sound, gender, and theology.
My goal is each of ours true mental, emotional and physical freedom from tyranny and deception, self inflicted and imposed, and the suffering that is oft intertwined.
The work I offer has been called many things, depending on the event - shamanic by some, some consider it political, others spiritual, others mental, some consider it a type of healing, others philosophical. Many have called it magic over the years and others have considered it theological. Some of my projects, such as the Peoples Public Trust and Native Reservation One, have been considered socio-political.
All of these are relatively true, but also a bit misleading. The most accurate term from my perspective would be to call this work mental and a demonstration of the most-ancient power of Living Words (the oral tradition) relative to writing.
But I don’t mean either of those terms it in the way most people interpret those words, so. for want of a better term without creating confusion by incorrect association:
let’s just call it alterNative.
To me, we are a species in a major transition, and contrast, of values, beliefs and direction. We’re painfully exploring the balance between collectivism and individualism, objectivism and subjectivism, masculine and feminine, power and ethics, secularity and faith, unseen and seen. The polar opposites bubbling on the surface of cultures around the world abound for resolution.
Core beliefs around human purpose, identity, direction, relating, and place in the world is in great flux with old models no longer serving and new ones not yet mature enough to rely on.
How things were is not how they are, and how they are, is not how they can continue to be.
We have the unenviable yet deliciously…viscerally…contrast-rich position of needing to have a foot in two worlds: to be in what was, and is; as well as trying to discover how to step into what can be. Both as ourselves, as well as together in groups.
Humans seem to be demonstrating an upgrade in sensitivity and awareness in recent generations. Yet there is a natural but truly tragic lack of the dexterity, compassion and maturity that can wield that sensitivity and awareness skilfully, in enough numbers, and bring forth the kinds of families and communities that are our potential…..yet.
Such things can only come with time, exposure, effort and experience. Of course, the sensitivity and awareness must come before the experience, then skill / dexterity. Maturity is even later. It is natural order.
Everything offered here is compassionate and sensitive to that process.
