How Anxiety Works - Current Mainstream Thinking
Anxiety is a nervous system response of heightened alert that develops when the body has learned that the world is ‘not safe’
This response it is embodied, automatic, and protective, operating beneath conscious thought. This is why anxiety can persist despite insight, reassurance, therapy, or willpower
It is a response that was appropriate at the time it was formed, but is no longer serving the life you want to live now
Why Most Anxiety Approaches Don’t Fully Resolve It
If anxiety comes from the nervous system beneath conscious thought, then solutions focusing on thoughts, beliefs, or behaviour management can only go so far
Many people become better at coping while the underlying state of vigilance remains. This leads to frustration: “I’ve done the work….so why is my body still reacting?”
It’s a mismatch between where anxiety lives and where the intervention is applied. Regardless of how rational, capable, or self-aware you are, if the nervous system never resets properly, it will just continue to perceive threat
Why This Is Different
The ‘Fight or Flight’ response that we get stuck in with anxiety is a result of perception that concludes ‘the world is not safe’.We have another distinct mode of perception available, which is natural and innate. You were born doing it:
All human infants can go from fear, tears, rage or tension to soft calm and giggles again, ‘just like that’. No residual bracing.
You did it too…and you can again.
We stop using this other mode when we are very young, but it is where ‘fight or flight’ gets a chance to reset with ease.
This is entirely unknown in mainstream anxiety management and treatment.

Darren Deojee
I’m Darren Deojee, and I know what it’s like to live with anxiety and stress that never truly lets you rest. For decades my system was braced even when nothing bad was happening. Everyday situations triggered fear, overthinking, and avoidance. My life felt 1/4 lived.
Through my own search, and over the past 19 years working with thousands of people across workshops, retreats, and 1-1 work in multiple countries, I noticed something consistent: people aren’t broken or flawed. They just don’t know how to reset their systems.
The work I’m sharing here isn’t something I invented. Versions of it have existed for centuries across different cultures, including the Toltec tradition where I encountered it, because it is natural and innate. This is why I am so confident it can work for you too.
While this programme is new, the method itself is deeply tried and tested by countless humans living real lives of real challenge, myself included.

Absolutely yes! The difference between the two is that we normally know the cause of ‘stress’, but we don’t always for ‘anxiety.’ Their symptoms can be very similar, so it is not unusual to be confused as to which it is.
